What You’ll Do:

Pottery Magic:

  • Coil Pots and Slab Plates: Get your hands dirty and your imagination soaring as you craft beautiful coil pots and slab plates. Learn the ancient art of pottery and create unique pieces to take home.

Textile Adventures:

  • Tie-Dye, Bleach, and Vinyl: Transform plain textiles into vibrant masterpieces! Experiment with tie-dye techniques, create cool designs with bleach, and personalize fabrics with vinyl.

Resin Treasures:

  • Unique Treasure Boxes: Design and craft your own treasure box. After the box will be covered in resin for a shiny, durable finish. Your keepsake will be a one-of-a-kin.

Woodshop Wonders:

  • Birdhouses: Learn woodworking skills as you craft birdhouses. Discover the joy of building with your hands and create something special for your garden or home.

Stained Glass Creations:

  • End the Week with Sparkle: Cap off your amazing week by learning how to work with stained glass. Make a decorative piece that will catch the light.

Get Ready to Get Messy!

At Summer Arts Camp at The Makerspace, we believe the best creativity happens when you’re not afraid to get a little messy! Here’s what you need to know:

Dress for Fun:

  • Expect to Get Messy: Whether you’re working with clay, paint, dye, or wood, you’ll be doing lots of hands-on activities. Embrace the mess and the creative process!
  • Comfortable Clothes: Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting stained or dirty. Comfortable, old clothes are perfect for our fun and sometimes messy projects.
  • Prepare for Wet Activities: Some of our activities involve water, like tie-dye and bleach art. Bring an extra set of clothes or a smock if you want to stay dry after these sessions.
  • Closed-Toe Shoes: For safety reasons, especially in the woodshop and when working with heavy materials, closed-toe shoes are a must.
  • Hair and Accessories: Long hair should be tied back, and avoid wearing any accessories that could get caught or damaged.

Join Us!

Come ready to dive into each activity with enthusiasm and creativity. Summer Arts Camp at The Makerspace is all about learning, creating, and enjoying every step of the process.
