Come learn to work with pottery with us!

Discover the art of pottery in this engaging 5-week class, perfect for beginners eager to explore their creative side! In this hands-on experience, you’ll dive into a variety of pottery techniques, including slab rolling, hand building, and wheel throwing—the traditional method of shaping clay on a spinning potter’s wheel.

Over the course of the class, our experienced instructor will guide you through essential skills like trimming, finishing, and glazing. You’ll also learn about different types of clay and glazes, understanding how to choose the right materials for your projects. Whether you’re crafting functional pieces like bowls and mugs or decorative items like vases and sculptures, this course equips you with the techniques to bring your unique ideas to life.

Our fully equipped studio features pottery wheels, kilns, and a wide range of tools, all included in the class fee. Materials are provided, so all you need to bring is your creativity!

Please dress in clothing/footwear you dont mind getting dirty in. Feel free to bring your own aprons/coveralls.

Dates: Wednesdays, January 08 – February 05

Time: 7:00–9:00 PM (2 hours per session)

Location: 757 Makerspace NFK 737 East 23rd Street

Cost: $150 for members, $200 for non-members

Age: 16+

• Tickets are unavailable after January 15th. You may miss the first class but not subsequent sessions, and there is no discount for missed classes.

What to Bring:

Please wear clothing and footwear you don’t mind getting messy. You’re welcome to bring your own apron or coveralls for added comfort.
