Attention all military-affiliated women! The Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity (SBSD) has just launched something big—the Virginia She Served Business Builder Initiative (VS2B2). If you’re a woman who’s served or is married to someone in the service, and you’ve ever dreamed of starting your own business or taking your current one to new heights, this program is designed with you in mind.

VS2B2 is more than just a course; it’s a lifeline for women veterans, service members, and military spouses looking to break into the entrepreneurial scene. With nearly 30 hours of expert-led instruction, this program tackles the unique challenges that military-affiliated women face in the business world—all at zero cost. That’s right, you’ll get top-tier business development training without spending a dime.

SBSD’s Agency Director, Willis Morris, is stoked about the impact this program will have on the community: “We’re not just offering a class; we’re opening doors for military-affiliated women to step into the world of business ownership. It’s about driving economic growth and creating opportunities within a community that’s given so much.”

Partnering with George Mason University Women’s Business Center of Northern Virginia and the Crater Apex Accelerator, VS2B2 covers everything you need to know to make your business dreams a reality. From understanding the ins and outs of entrepreneurship to getting hands-on with practical skills, this program has got it all.

So, who’s eligible? If you’re an active-duty servicewoman, a reservist, a veteran, or married to someone who is, you’re in. But don’t sleep on this opportunity—applications close on Friday, August 30th, 2024.
