Hampton Roads, VA, August 28 — Innovate Hampton Roads, in partnership with the City of Virginia Beach, is proud to announce the Startup World Cup Virginia Regional, an extraordinary event slated for the evening of August 28th at Zeiders American Dream Theater in Virginia Beach. This marks the first time the prestigious Startup World Cup series, spearheaded by Anis Uzzaman, will grace Virginia, setting the stage for local startups to showcase their innovative prowess on a global platform.

Anis Uzzaman, Chairman of Startup World Cup, expressed his enthusiasm about the new partnership: “We are thrilled to partner up with Innovate Hampton Roads for the Startup World Cup Virginia Regional. This is our first time bringing the event to Virginia Beach and we are delighted by the quality and enthusiasm of the competing startups. Each year we have been able to reach more entrepreneurs in more cities around the world and connect more innovation ecosystems to Silicon Valley and the rest of the world. We hope this partnership creates a platform startups in Virginia.”

The event is a pivotal moment for Innovate Hampton Roads and a significant milestone for Hampton Roads as it embraces its role in the expanding global innovation ecosystem. By hosting this event, Virginia Beach positions itself as a critical hub for startups across the state and beyond, eager to tap into the vast networks that the Startup World Cup provides.

Open to all startups across Virginia, the event encourages wide participation and promises attendees an evening of networking, pitch competitions, and insights into the world of global startup ecosystems. The winner of the regional competition will represent Virginia at the Startup World Cup Grand Finale in San Francisco, competing for a $1 million investment prize. The regional event is limited to 100 startups; there isn’t a specific vertical, and startups can range from pre-seed to Series A companies.
