The Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) of Southeast Virginia just announced the upcoming Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) 2024, they’re looking for participants with the spark and stamina to become tomorrow’s business leaders.
Last year’s GSEA competition was a resounding success, and they are privileged to announce that the competition will return in 2024. But here’s the catch – GSEA isn’t your run-of-the-mill business pitch competition. They aren’t here to pit businesses against each other, but rather to spotlight the qualities of a great entrepreneur: the drive, the passion, and the stamina to succeed.
Unlike other competitions, GSEA’s aim is not to judge who runs the largest or most successful business. Their focus is on the student – the individual with the indomitable spirit and boundless creativity that is the hallmark of entrepreneurship. They aim to enhance and broaden your entrepreneurial journey, helping you develop a strong foundation for your future endeavors.
Their distinctive approach doesn’t stop there. They provide students with access to successful entrepreneurs in the area, offering you a unique chance to develop and hone your professional and personal skills. Many past participants have found mentors and secured investment backing through their association with EO and GSEA.
So, what are the qualifications for entry? The barrier is low and the criteria are simple: They welcome undergraduate and graduate students who have been operating a business for a minimum of six months, secured at least $500 in revenue or $1,000 in venture backing, and who are principally responsible for their business operations. The stakes? The winner will automatically advance to the Regional Finals, then to the National competition usually held in sunny San Diego, competing with other student winners from across the US. The winner of the US Finals will proceed to the Global Finals. At each stage of the competition, significant cash prizes, sponsorships, and additional resources are up for grabs – all poised to contribute to the success of your business.
