A Norfolk startup that developed an on-demand gig work platform for green jobs was selected to participate in a 10-week virtual program designed to help technology businesses unlock their growth potential.
Richmond-based Covintus Tech Tank selected Frontline GIG in Norfolk and four other startups to participate in its Batch 2 Cohort program running Jan. 25 through April 1, according to a news release.
The accelerator program helps startup founders find solutions to their own tech challenges by sharing knowledge and experience with other founders and mentors, said Logan Ryan, director of community engagement for Covintus. Founders learn how to present their technology to investors and stakeholders, become enterprise-ready with their tech offerings and know how and when to phase features in and out.
The startups were chosen from a nationwide online application process. Other participants are: Edai in Richmond, ezClinic in Chicago, Lulu’s Local Food in Richmond and Touchbase in Baltimore.
Each startup can compete for $25,000 toward Covintus’ software development or technical consulting services in a Covintus Tech Tank Pitch Competition, the firm said. For completing the program, each startup will each receive $5,000 to use for services.
