Lighthouse welcomed
10 teams to their milestone 10th Cohort for the Spring (starting March 15th). The teams competed for the 10 slots from more than 200 applicants and represent a diverse set of industries, geographic locations, and stage of the company.
This is Lighthouse Labs largest and most diverse cohort ever; 6 companies are led by female founders, 5 by Black founders, and 9 by BIPOC founders. The teams are from 7 states (4 from the Richmond area) with founders hailing from Alabama, California, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia (4), and Washington, D.C. The fearless founders are innovating across industries – tackling retail, health & wellness, big data, project management, construction, SilverTech, and EdTech.
The announcement also coincides with a full rebrand (including a new logo and
website) the team had been working on for the better part of 6 months.
It’s Lighthouse Lab’s desire that the dynamic brand reflects the essence of acceleration: experimentation, iteration, and community. The logo and the accompanying brand system were designed to evoke Lighthouse Labs’ role as a laboratory – a place to build, test, and create. Simple lines, elementary shapes, and primary colors have replaced more complex illustrations and serve as the building blocks of their new brand.
